365 Days of Postcards - #11 - January 11, 2012
This postcard is from Belen, a Spanish exchange student who stayed with my family in the summer of 1999.
One of the last times my parents heard from Belen (aside from an occasional email) was a few days after 9/11. She knew my dad worked in the World Trade Center and called to see if he was alright. (It only just dawned on me that since this was before Skype, what a big deal and nice gesture it was for someone to call us internationally.)
I think one of my sisters still keeps in contact with Belen through Facebook.

I love this:

ehmcyclopedia:
A found postcard, sent from Spain to Ciboure, France.
The script is very beautiful, but unfortunately also made it very difficult to make out most of the words (it doesn’t help that I’m not fluent in French).
